The new Tennessee State Museum is beginning to take shape at the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Jefferson Street. Watch the video for a preview of history in the making.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author and native Tennessean Jon Meacham delivered the keynote address at the Groundbreaking Ceremony on April 6, 2016. After an introduction by Governor Bill Haslam, Meacham discussed Tennessee’s contributions to our national history as well as the role museums such as this serve in helping us reflect on the past as we focus on the future. Other speakers included State Museum Executive Director Lois Riggins-Ezzell, Representative Steve McDaniel, House Speaker Beth Harwell and Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey.
